While Zak Starkey’s first kit was the 1975 White/Cream Premier kit gifted to his father by Keith Moon, this page focuses on Zak’s kits used for gigs with The Who.

1996–1997 Quadrophenia tours

The kit Zak used for the 1996/97 Quadrophenia tours, a Drum Workshop (DW) kit in white with brass hardware.

2010 (Super Bowl Halftime show)

2004

The kit Zak used for The Who’s Super Bowl halftime show appearance, a Drum Workshop (DW)-badged kit in clear acrylic, with Zildijan cymbals finished as RAF Roundels. DW 9100M throne.

2012 (Summer Olympics)

The kit Zak used for The Who’s Summer Olympics appearance, a Drum Workshop (DW)-badged kit in multicolored red, black, blue, yellow, and green clear acrylic, using RCI acrylic shells and a combination of DW and PDP hardware. Zildijan cymbals finished with Olympic ring-colored edges.

Zak is using a custom Drum Workshop (DW) electronic Roland V-Drums kit in gold with gold-plated hardware, Roland V-Drums electronic cymbals, Porter & Davies TT6 Equipped throne.
